Celebrating 10 Years of SoCalREN
Over the past decade, the Southern California Regional Energy Network (SoCalREN) has provided a strong foundation for regional energy efficiency and resiliency. Across the public, residential, and workforce education and training (WE&T) sectors, our programs have delivered a majority of benefits to underserved communities. Our services have helped participants save more than 135,000,000 kWh of energy and create 1,500+ clean energy jobs.

Carbon Reduction
SoCalREN has helped to accelerate decarbonization through energy efficiency and generated significant carbon reductions over the past decade in support of both state and local climate targets.

Focusing on the Future
California’s ambitious climate action goals include reducing emissions to 40 percent of 1990 levels by 2030 and achieving carbon neutrality by 2045. In June 2023, the California Public Utilities Commission issued a Proposed Decision approving SoCalREN’s 2025–2031 Strategic Business Plan. The budget includes more than $580 million to implement energy efficiency services and programs over the next eight years.
SoCalREN aims to expand its current offerings to include the Agricultural and Commercial sectors. It will continue to focus on growth in underserved communities, jobs, local energy capacity, and climate action through carbon reduction.
